Course Planning for Keep Teaching, Fall 2020: Upcoming UNC Workshops

The following opportunities are offered by the Center for Faculty Excellence.

Essentials for Remote Teaching and Learning

“Essentials” is a new resource designed to help Carolina instructors create effective remote teaching and learning experiences this Fall. Given the limited amount of time to develop or revise courses, this resource will focus on the essentials for effective remote instruction. Topics will help faculty make the transition to hybrid or remote teaching, apply research-based course design principles, align course goals/activities/assessments, facilitate student interactions with attention to diversity, equity and inclusion, and use best practices for grading and assessment.

The synchronous version was offered on July 7 and July 13, but you can still enroll in the asynchronous version. Visit the course enrollment page in Sakai to learn more. Faculty can work through content at their own pace, focus on components most important to them, and participate in asynchronous course-type activities in Sakai.

Upcoming Workshops

To help faculty plan their courses for Fall 2020, several brief 45-minute Workshops are also available. In most cases, Zoom links will be sent via a reminder email at least one day prior to the Session. We encourage you to ADD the event to your own calendar. Topics include Resilient Teaching, Sakai tools, teaching with Zoom and Breakouts, PollEverywhere, Makerspace projects, and facilitating student interactions in hybrid or remote courses.
