Fall 2021 Instruction Modes

While Fall 2021 courses will largely be in-person, some courses will continue to be offered in partially or fully remote formats. Be sure to use the Class Features tool to communicate course format details to registering students.

In-Person Courses

Description
  • Students will attend courses in person. Remote students cannot register for this mode.
  • Students will attend classes and take exams on specific dates/times and at a specific physical campus location throughout the semester.
  • Designed for both in-person and fully remote students attend simultaneously.
  • Students attend classes and exams on specific dates/at specific times throughout the semester.
    • On-campus students take exams at a specific physical campus location.
    • Remote students take exams online.
  • You may decide to deliver some instruction online to all students. Plan to inform students in advance which parts of your course are virtual.

Do You Meet in a Classroom on Campus? Yes, all students are expected to go to a classroom for the course.
  • On-campus students are expected to go to a classroom for the course.
  • Remote students will access the course via Zoom, Teams, or a similar platform.

The classroom for this course should have appropriate technology for teaching remote students.

 

Remote Courses

Description
  • You will teach live, online class sessions with all students attending remotely.
  • For most class sessions, students aren’t required to attend classes and/or exams on specific dates/at specific times.
  • Most class sessions and/or exams have flexible options for completion within a window of time.
  • Students aren’t required to attend class sessions on specific dates/at specific times. Course content will be available on-demand or within specified windows of time.
  • All course instruction is asynchronous. Class sessions and/or exams will have flexible options for completion within a window of time. Plan to inform students of participation requirements.
  • Course deadlines will provide a structure for student participation and assignment completion.
